Windows 7 BSOD driving me mad

New Member
Hi there guys,

I am having some annoying BSOD problems that I was hoping to get a little help with.Seems to happen randomly and looking at Blue screen viewer it seems to be mainly System_Service_Exception 0x0000003b /0x1000007e or Memory_Management.
So far I have
-Re installed windows -7 64 bit ultimate
- Memtest with prime 95
- Flashed Bios -Gigabyte p55A-UD4 to F15
- Cleared out and reinstalled graphics drivers/ 5850 crossfire <- hoping that last bit is not causing this

Running Kaspersky 6.0 Antivirus/Firewall. Attached are the Dump files since i reinstalled Windows + CPUZ

Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome.

Uninstall VirtualCloneDrive. Replace with PowerISO.

-----------

Uninstall UltraMon.

-------------

Uninstall your Defragment software which is too old, to get rid of this:

DefragFS DefragFS.SYS Wed Jan 07 08:35:48 2009

-------------

Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and delete:

ElbyCDIO ElbyCDIO.sys Tue Feb 17 12:11:23 2009

------------

Reboot. Then update Realtek lan:

Rt64win7 Rt64win7.sys Thu Feb 26 04:04:13 2009

Thanks for the rapid response. Will implement changes now and the Chocolate fish is in the post.
Thanks again.

I could not find ElbyCDIO ElbyCDIO.sys Tue Feb 17 12:11:23 2009 in the system 32 folder. Hidden maybe.I just had another blue screen too :(

So ya, remove/uninstall/update those as above.

Unfortunately though, it's likely that those things aren't going to help but still should be done for sure. I've already given all my advice necessary here, so with that, hope you do well....

Your memory is likely defective and you will have to replace it entirely with a brand new matching set for best stability, reliability and performance, if the software issues do not fix it.

Enjoy the new hardware when you obtain it, if it's necessary.

Of course, anyone else is perfectly welcome to respond here, so anyone please do so if you wish.

Good luck.

I think it must be hardware related as I have followed all steps and it is still happening. However I am not sure why some of those apps were showing in that dump file as I had already uninstalled them and updated realtec. The only left over drivers in the System32 driver folder were Rt64win7.sys which has to stay for Realtec Lan and Vclone.sys which i deleted.Anyway thanks for the help, I will reinstall windows one more time and test before The Ram is RMA'd

I'm 97% certain that you need to replace the memory, but I can not give you the TorrentG guarantee without seeing a "clean" crash dump, which means that you've taken care of all the software issues stated.

So it is in your best interest to make sure you have, and then post a new crash dump after.

Once I see this "clean" crash dump, then I can give you the certain word to go ahead and replace RAM.

Ok just had latest BS. I believe I have dealt to all of the issues on the software list so I will be surprised if they show up. Fingers crossed .
Cheers

Run memtest overnight:

RAM - Test with Memtest86+ - Windows 7 Forums

Mind you need to run it 10 passes overnight. Better if you isolate sticks to test them separately and in different slots.

Unisnstall Kaspersky with the use of its official uninstaller:

Removal tool for Kaspersky Lab products

Link Removed due to 404 Error

Kaspersky was not involved in your crashes but it is rather notorious and yours is outdated - Sep. 2009. So uninstall it to get a "cleaner" list. If despite all you keep getting BSOD's, it's your RAM. --> MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (1a).

Thanks Cybercore.

The answer is sometimes the simplest. Ran Memtest and had a huge amount of errors in the first five minutes.Took out all my ram and reset all and what do you know, No errors. Sigh I feel like a bit of a muppet but at least I wont have the hassles of RMA. Not yet at least.
Thanks to all for your help.

Unfortunately I spoke way to soon it seems. Although I have tested my Ram for ten plus hours with no errors I am still getting BSOD. I am fairly convinced it is hardware related but I have attached the latest dump files to see if any light can be shed on the problem. These blue screens seemed to start happening around about the time I bought a second 5850 for crossfiring (not exactly sure on this though). My first card is a slightly overclocked Gigabyte card while the second is a stock standard Saphirre model.Could the difference in the clocks of the two cards be causing these problems? Just a thought?
If the dumps dont show anything glaringly obvious my next course of action is to remove all drives bar C:/second graphics card/Audio card and reinstall WIn7 and wait to see if it continues.

Thanks for your help once again.

Hi and thanks Cybercore,
Did all of the above including nuking Perfectdisc completely. Was Ok for a while but got another blue this morning. Continued with testing Ram today and I can't seem to get my machine to post with any of the sticks in Dimm slot 1.Seems dead slot on Mobo is the culprit. I have never had a mobo die on my before is there any other reason it would not post from slot 1.I tried all sticks in the other slots and it posts fine.
Cheers
Kilab

Seems dead slot on Mobo is the culprit.

Ran Memtest and had a huge amount of errors in the first five minutes.Took out all my ram and reset all and what do you know, No errors. Sigh I feel like a bit of a muppet but at least I wont have the hassles of RMA. Not yet at least.
That's the culprit. And you were lucky enough that the memtest showed errors. It doesn't always do why it's a good idea to test sticks per one and in different slots.

Taking the board for RMA today.
Just want to say again thanks for all your help Cybercore and Torrentg. Great that you give up your time to help people though their issues.
Hopefully I should have a shiny new mobo soon and be on my merry way.
Cheers
Kila

OKey, thanks for keeping us updated and wish you have no problems with the new motherboard.

Good luck. : )
