Hi All,

Ok so, I,ve been getting alot of bluescreens lately... they seem to have started out of noweher and can happen pretty much during anything I'm doing... I installed windows 7 in August (just changed from XP PRo for no reason except wanting 7 ) it's been runing good until 1 week ago... Now I've tried Memtest86+, Scanning HDD, CPU test, and everything always passes with flying colors... so This is now beyond my Skill/knowloge...I tried formatting and re-installing and problem persist's.. So any help here would really be useful..

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If a kernel debugger is available get the stack backtrace.
Arguments:
Arg1: 83ffffec, memory referenced
Arg2: 00000002, IRQL
Arg3: 00000001, bitfield :
    bit 0 : value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation
bit 3 : value 0 = not an execute operation, 1 = execute operation (only on chips which support this level of status)
Arg4: 828b62c1, address which referenced memory

Hi DJUniK and Welcome to The Forum.

As a Priority:

Specifically update/disable this driver:

ASACPI.sys Fri Aug 13 03:52:52 2004 This driver is notorious for causing BSOD's. You have two options:
  • You can disable the ATK0110 ACPI Utility in the DeviceManager (under System Devices) with no apparent issues. OR (and if disabling does cause issues)
  • There is an update here: Asus ATK0110 driver. Look under the sub-heading: Utilities. 12th one down.

Driver Install - Manual method

  1. Download the driver and extract it to a folder.
  2. Open the Device Manager.
  3. Right click the device you wish to change the drivers for. You can select Properties > Driver > Driver Details to check you have the right device. In this case System Devices >> ATK0110 ACPI Utility
  4. Choose Update Driver Software.
  5. Select Browse My Computer For Driver Software.
  6. Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
  7. Select Have disk...
  8. Select Browse..
  9. Navigate to the extracted folder and double click on the .inf file
  10. Hit OK, then Next and the driver(s) will then begin to install.
  11. After it has installed, GoTo C:\Windows\System32\Drivers. Locate the Asacpi.sys driver, right click it and check the dates under its properties. You're looking for a "Modified" date of 2009 or 2010. Occasionally it can be a bit stubborn to change.

Make sure your system is fully upated including SP1.

These drivers were loaded in your most recent DMP file and need to be updated.

How To Find Drivers:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
- - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference Driver Reference
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloads

Ok got windows to start.. just after replying , my pc was installing Service pack 1, and got a BSOD... and would not restart... now i went to minidump folder and there are no new files ..?? Don't now what is happening.. but I remember seeing MEMORY_MANAGEMENT in the first screen...

Memory_Management usually means your RAM/RAM settings are mismatched or incorrect.

Download and run CPU-Z. Take screenshots/snips of the Memory tab and all the slot#'s under the SPD tab.
Go to Post Reply, click on the Go Advanced button and attach the screenshots/snips to your post for all the RAM experts to see by using the paper clip you will find on the top toolbar. Do not zip them up.

Service Pack 1 update failed as well as Update for windows 7 (KB2529073) Should I retry right away???

I'd leave that just for now (but not forget it!), lets see if we can get to the root of your problem.

memorytab.pngSPD tab slot#1.pngSPD tab slot#2.pngSPD tab slot#3.pnghere are the screen shots..

Ideally, your Ram should be matched. Same Manufacturer, Type, Model, Size, Batch, Timings, Etc.? Preferably bought as a matched set.

Personally I'd remove the one odd stick of RAM you have installed and try your system for stability with only your matched pair installed.

thing is they all have the same part# KVR800D2N5K2 except I have 2 from when I built my PC back in 2007-2008 and 2 recently purchased to bring memory up to 4Gb.. but the 2 new RAMS, are slimmer than the old ones even though they all have the same part#... thats why I have one removed I've been trying different combinations with them...

1 of your RAM sticks has a part# KTC1G-UDIMM, the other two don't display part numbers.
1 of your RAM sticks has a serial# A80C56AB, 1 is 2D3680F1 and the final is 2B3680F1. Apart from anything else, the speed with which Manufacturers update their products these days, virtually every week, I find it hard to believe that two 4yr old sticks of RAM will be matched to two recently purchased.

I have 2 sticks of RAM, part and serial numbers match. That is a set.

However, you obviously removed one stick of RAM as , although matched, you thought it was causing problems.

I'd run Memtest 86+ again on your 3 matched RAM sticks as follows:

Run Memtest86+ overnight, after your computer has been off for about an hour or two so it has a cold start. Ideally let it run for at least 7 passes / 6-8 hours. If errors appear before that you can stop that particular test.
Note!! Any time Memtest86+ reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad Mobo slot. Test RAM sticks individually. When you find a good one then test it in all slots. Post back with the results.

Ok.. memory tab is posted in first page of thread... Memtest86+ 4.10 complteted 11 passes in 9:45 hours.. no errors found...
