Hi,

We have a PC that is experiencing fairly regular BSODs (two to three times a day). At this moment we are unsure what could be causing the problem. We had installed a new network card in this machine but this has since been removed as we thought this may have been causing the issue. After removing the network card the BSODs have continued.

I have attached the latest five minidumps that have been generated.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Hi.

All crash dumps were the same 0xA stops, dealing with msiscsi.sys, which is the Microsoft iSCSI Initiator Driver.

I recommend you update the VMWare to update these old drivers:

Code:
vstor2_mntapi10 vstor2-mntapi10.sys Fri Apr 17 23:09:22 2009
vstor2_ws60 vstor2-ws60.sys Mon Oct 12 17:06:26 2009
vmnetbridge vmnetbridge.sys Mon Aug 10 08:05:58 2009
VMNET VMNET.SYS Mon Aug 10 08:04:50 2009
vmnetadapter vmnetadapter.sys Mon Aug 10 08:04:53 2009
------

Update the video card driver:

Code:
nvlddmkm nvlddmkm.sys Tue Jul 14 15:50:52 2009
Link Removed - Invalid URL

---------

Use CPU-Z to find out which motherboard it is. Then visit the manfuacturer's website to download and install the latest Broadcom Gigabit lan driver:
Code:
b57nd60a b57nd60a.sys Thu May 28 21:57:35 2009
----------

Update all SQL software to update this old driver:
Code:
RsFx0103 RsFx0103.sys Sun Mar 29 15:14:11 2009
------------

Visit Dell's website to update the driver for DLS_DELL_SMARTCARD - should probably be the card reader drivers:

Code:
PBADRV64 PBADRV64.sys Mon Jan 07 14:12:13 2008
--------

Open an elevated command prompt. Type sfc /scannow then hit enter. Reboot.

---------------

If all else fails, rename PxHlpa64.sys to PxHlpa64.BAK then reboot.

It is at C:\Windows\System32\drivers

It's due to old drivers and software:

ntoskrnl.exe
Bugcheck code: 0xA (0x4, 0x2, 0x1, 0xFFFFF80002CD82BD)
Error: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
file path: C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System
company: Microsoft Corporation
description: NT Kernel & System

Files to pay attention, need be updated if their newer versions are available:

ci.dll (2009) - Alcohol 120%
sptd.sys (2009) - Duplex Secure Ltd (Alcohol 120 related, sptd)
iaStor.sys (2009) - Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver
lsi_sas.sys (2009) - LSI Fusion-MPT SAS Driver (StorPort)
amdxata.sys (2009) - Stor Filter Driver by Advanced Macro Devices
PxHlpa64.sys (2009) - Px Engine Device Driver Sonic Solutions
Dxapi.sys (2009) - Update DirectX too
nvlddmkm.sys (2009) - NVIDIA Compatible Windows Vista Kernel Mode Driver, Version 175.30
b57nd60a.sys (2009) - Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet NDIS6.x Unified Driver
ADIHdAud.sys (2009) - SoundMAX Digital HD Audio Driver

Reinstall drivers with the latest and get system updates.

sptd.sys comes with Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120%, installs automatically with them. I've just been using Alc. 120% for years, so this driver looks so familiar. :)

Hi guys,

Thank you for your analysis. We think it may be the iSCSI Initiator but we are going through updating drivers/software as suggested and will monitor the PC in question tomorrow. We will report back sometime tomorrow to let you know how things are going.

Thanks
