Hi

Hope someone can help here! All is great with 7 except this issue. I have a HTPC and I cannot for the life of me connect to the 2 drives. The network is functioning fine - indeed I can connect to my wife's laptop (XP) - I just get a simple error telling me that I don't have permission - "WindowsLink Removed cannot connect to \\Htpc-PC\d". There is no problem doing this from my Vista installation (I am dual booting). Interestingly if I create another User with the same name/password as the HTPC then there is no problem. Why can't I connect by selecting "Logon with different credentials" or something?

UPDATED - PROBLEM SOLVED!

Just right click in the Network area and create a network place whoch actually existed before - then you can map the same drive.

Please help!

It looks like you had an issue connecting to two drives on your HTPC from your Windows 7 system and received a permission error. However, you were able to connect to these drives from your Vista installation and by creating a new user with the same credentials as your HTPC. You also found a solution by creating a network place from the Network area, which allowed you to map the drives successfully.
It's great to hear that you found a solution to your problem! If you encounter any more issues or have further questions, feel free to ask for assistance.
