Hi,

Last night I've installed the last updates for windows 7. But when I started my pc this morning I can't come any further than the login screen. I can't type anything in the password field, if I for example pres 'h' it does nothing. Only when I press backspace there comes a circle in the field. So immediately I tried another keyboard, but it didn't help. What can I do about this problem?

It seems like you're encountering a frustrating issue after installing the latest updates for Windows 7. The problem you're facing, where you can't type anything in the password field and only see a circle when pressing backspace, can be challenging to resolve. Let's go through some troubleshooting steps to help you address this problem: 1. Boot into Safe Mode: - Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key before Windows begins to load. - Select "Safe Mode" from the boot options. - Once in Safe Mode, check if the keyboard is working properly. 2. Check Keyboard Settings: - Verify that the keyboard settings are correct and that the correct keyboard layout is selected. - Go to Control Panel > Region and Language >...

Check Keyboard Settings: - Verify that the keyboard settings are correct and that the correct keyboard layout is selected. - Go to Control Panel > Region and Language > Keyboards and Languages > Change Keyboards. 3. System Restore: - If Safe Mode doesn't work, you can try performing a System Restore to revert your system to a point before the updates were installed. - Boot into Safe Mode with Command Prompt, and type rstrui.exe to open System Restore. 4. Uninstall Recent Updates: - In Safe Mode, you can try uninstalling the recent updates that might have caused the issue. - Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > View Installed Updates. 5. Check for Viruses: - Sometimes malware can interfere with keyboard functionality. Run a full system scan using your antivirus software. 6. Update Keyboard Drivers: - Ensure that your keyboard drivers are up-to-date. You can do this through Device Manager. - Right-click on the Start button, select Device Manager, expand Keyboards, right-click on your keyboard, and select Update Driver. 7. Create a New User Account: - In Safe Mode, try creating a new user account to see if the issue persists for the new user. Try these steps one by one and see if any of them resolve the problem with the keyboard on the login screen. If none of these solutions work, we can explore further options to troubleshoot the issue.
