Howdy folks,

I've got a Toshiba 5010 tablet that has fingerprint recognition.

After upgrading to Windows 7, the login screen starts to paint and then flashes forever.
If I boot in safe mode with networking, I can log in and see that there are events in the event log for logonui.exe crashing.

I've tried to update the finger print driver. I've tried to uninstall the old driver, but can't in safe mode. I've tried setting the user to autologin.

Any thoughts on how to get by this?

Many thanks,
Jim

Would it be possible to log into safemode, and disable the fingerprint device via the device manager, and then reboot into normal mode?

Hello Jim,

I ran into the same Problem with my Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook. After Upgrading from Vista to Windows 7 the LogonUI.exe crashed and the systems hangin a loop.

After reading your post I started in safe mode and deactivated the 'unknown device' (I think it was the fingerprintscanner) in the device manager.

Restarted an could Logon without any problem by using my password. (under Vista I was using the fingerprintscanner).

Hope this is helpfull for anybody

regards...
