As I mentioned previously Aimee you need to use the updates from your website support page only. I thought you had already tried the drivers and Bios so went on to other solutions. To be honest this is really your first port of call in trying to fix the laptop. Usually updating the bios is only dodgy if you get the incorrect file or the machine is turned off during the flashing process. Obviously at the end of the day it's up to you..
Exactly.... Like I said above, give Acer support a call.. Is there anyway you can use a phone other than your cell? Simply because you might on hold a long time.
I tried using Skype but it drained all my credit before they answered lol.
I've re-downloaded the BIOS ones, going to install them again just to make sure it's been done properly because honestly, I haven't repaired a computer since windows 7 came out lol, so I'm a bit rusty.
The only other thing I can think of trying is unplugging from the mains, removing the laptop battery for 30mins and leave the system powered down. Other than that you'll have to take it back I guess.
