Computer having troubles starting up and shutting down.

A machine power cyling like that could be memory related, but could also be the board. If the memory is in 2 sticks, try one at a time.

No I have not.
For the first time, I took it to a PC repair shop. At the very least they are doing a free diagnostic on the hardware.
I’ll let you know what becomes of it.

Thank you. Would be of interest what they find.
They claimed it was a bad power supply, I knew it was either that or the motherboard.
They said the cheapest replacement that could find was 130$, plus a 99$ service fee.
I went to Best Buy and got a 40$ one and installed it myself. I’ll let you know if it works or not once I get home with it.

Hoefully that fixes it for you, out of interest what PSU did you end up getting?

I wanted to get th EVGA 450w, but Best Buy was out. Don’t freak out, but I got an Insignia 450w.
I know that their brand isn’t the best, but it was like 50$, I didn’t want to wait like a week to get a new one in the mail.

I think I'd have waited and I shall try to not freak out.

Is it at least 80 gold certified?

It’s 80%+ efficiency. I didn’t see any certification on it.

Please give me grace, I’m just a poor college student that likes light gaming.

Hey no judging from me. Well maybe a little. But hey if it works then great.

We've all been there when a psu has gone and have to get a cheaper one.
