Does anyone know why my Ease of Access "Make text bigger" font size selection doesn't stick on my laptop? Whenever I have my USBC hub plugged in with the external HDMI monitor the machine always starts up with a small font even know I already and previously selected 133% font size. It even knows its suppose to be 133% because the slider is already on it when go I to fix it.

But the font is still small. I then just do the same thing and Apply and the font goes larger like it should have already done to begin with.

Why? Why won't it save? Same with ScrollWidth in the registry, I want my scrollbar width to be like -400, not the default -260. Yet it keep resetting. Windows 10 (1903 Build 18362.418) will never make these changes stick. Anyone know why?

Note the hard drive was move to a different laptop if that matters, it was fixed in the shop.

Solution
For the issue regarding personalized display settings not persisting in Windows when using different monitors or USB-C hubs, or even after the hard drive was moved to a different laptop, you can try the following troubleshooting steps: 1. Display Settings Reset: - After setting the desired text size or scroll width, make sure to click on "Apply" and then "Save" to ensure the changes are saved. 2. Hardware Profiles: - Changes in hardware configuration can sometimes impact display settings. It's possible that using different monitors or USB-C hubs is triggering Windows to reset display settings due to changes in the hardware profile. - Check if the display settings revert back when you switch between hardware configurations...

It's possible that using different monitors or USB-C hubs is triggering Windows to reset display settings due to changes in the hardware profile. - Check if the display settings revert back when you switch between hardware configurations. If this is the case, you might need to set the display settings independently for different hardware setups. 3. Check for Updates: - Ensure that Windows and your display drivers are up to date. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause issues with persistent display settings. 4. Monitor Recognition: - Windows might treat each setup with a different monitor as a unique configuration, leading to discrepancies in display settings. Try configuring the settings for each monitor setup individually. 5. Registry Settings: - If the changes are still not persisting, you can attempt to modify the registry settings directly. However, be cautious when making changes in the registry, as incorrect modifications can cause system instability. - Create a system restore point before modifying any registry settings to have a fallback option in case of any issues. 6. Third-Party Software: - Check if any third-party software or utilities are interfering with the display settings. Some software may have features that automatically adjust display settings based on the connected hardware. 7. User Profile Issues: - Create a new user account and check if the display settings persist for this new user. This can help determine if the issue is user-specific or system-wide. By following these steps and monitoring how the display settings behave with different hardware configurations and user accounts, you should be able to identify the root cause behind the settings not sticking in Windows 10.
