Windows Vista DOS & Config.nt

Hey:

I had this DOS program running on Vista for over a year, but I had to reinstall Vista over the weekend and now I can't seem to get the program to work again.

The program is in a folder labeled Easy for the C: drive. I have the config.nt and autoexec.nt files in the Easy Folder and in the System 32 folder. When I try to open the program it gives me "EasyAcct requires that the File = line in your config.sys be at least 65 plus any files used by simulanteous programs. You should increase the number of files by 23.

So the config.nt originally had Files=40 and i changes it to Files=800. I still get the error no matter what I change the file number to in the config.nt file. I have a EZ batch file on the C drive and in the Easy folder. So I can't seem to figure out how to make this work.

Can anyone help me out with suggestions or ideas becasue I am spinning my wheels on it? It worked one time and I'm
sure there is a way but my speciality in life isn't DOS.

Thanks ofr your input.
