Windows 7 Drive C is not working properly.

I am a student who is exploring different operating systems. i dont know, because a recent thing that i have done, drive c does not seem to work well. i cant install anything drive c nor uninstall anything. i cant directly open a downloaded file but i have to go to downloads folder. plz let me know how to fix this!!! i m sick with not being able to install anything!! please help me!!!

Well that makes it pretty hard to troubleshoot without actually being on the computer.
