Windows 8 Dvd Rw Drive (E) Not Working Properly

Hello,
This drive is giving me poor performance. When I insert a blank disc to make a copy of some music, I can hear the music being skipped and the drive also makes a sound that sounds like it's not inserted correctly. But after checking, it looks ok. So I think I may need a new drive. I tried HP PC HARDWARE DIAGNOSTICS and it states everything is ok. So before I take my laptop in for repair, what else can I try?

Thanks, but I forgot to delete my post when I realized it was posted in the wrong forum. The cleaning disc fixed it.
