hi i am tryin to setup dual monitors on my zoostorm pc.

i have connected 1 monitor on the vga port and the other on the dvi port.

at the moment i have the same display on both screens.

my system only recognises 1 screen - generic PnP monitor on standard vga graphics adapter

do i need to update my drivers? where do i do this?

or do i need a new graphics card?

my system is

  • Processor: Intel Core i3-2120 Processor (3.3Ghz, 3MB Cache)
  • Hard Disk: 500GB (1x500GB) SATA II Hard Drive
  • Memory: 8GB DDR3 (16GB Max)
  • Operating System: Windows 7

its an asus motherboard i think

thanks for any help

Give us your Graphics Card name.

Try -
right click your desktop and select "Screen Resolution".
Then Click the button "Identify" - hopefully, one screen will show the number "1", the other, number "2".
If so, then change the settings to extend the two monitors
If not - Verify that:
A: your card is able to run dual monitors
B: You have the most up to date driver (to find this, I need your graphics card name).

thanks General, but i got it sorted.

my graphics card drivers were out of date, i downloaded them, rebooted and got both monitors working.

its a great job, shoulda done this years ago.

Thanks anyway, so much helpful info on here
