Windows 7 .exe refuses to open

Hi guys

The problem is as folllows;

1) I click on an application
2) I get the blue loading circle for a few seconds as if the application is about to open
3) Nothing happens

I have had this problem on my laptop running Windows 7 home basic on the executable for "BMW M3 Challenge." This was "fixed" by uninstalling the game and re-installing for every use ie the exe would only run ONCE per installation.

Now the problem occurs on my desktop running Windows 7 Ultimate trying to open a game "far cry 4"

Any possible solutions would be appreciated.

It wouldn't surprise me if Eset is your problem, possibly the firewall if your running it? Eset has been known to stop certain games from launching. This guide may help:

Tell it to always run "as admin"

Are you running in 64bit as this is one of the sys' requirements for the game?

Hi Kemical, yes I am running Win 7 Ultimate SP1 64 bit. I find the issue very odd.

Edit: Just to clarify, unlike the situation I had with my laptop where I was at least able to run the game once per installation - I have been unable to run Far Cry 4 at all on my desktop.

What are you using for security? Which Anti-Virus application?
