I recently needed to uninstall FS9 but upon reinstalling I am unable to run the program. The message I am getting (it's happening in Windows 10 also on another machine) is 'Login with administrator privileges'. Any help would be much appreciated.

Solution
To resolve the "Login with administrator privileges" error when running Flight Simulator 9 (FS9) on Windows 10, you can try the following steps to potentially address the issue: 1. Run as Administrator: - Right-click on the FS9 executable or its shortcut and select "Run as administrator." This option ensures that the program runs with the necessary administrative privileges. 2. Compatibility Mode: - Set FS9 to run in compatibility mode for an earlier version of Windows. Right-click the FS9 executable, select "Properties," go to the "Compatibility" tab, check "Run this program in compatibility mode for," and choose an earlier version of Windows like Windows XP or Windows 7. 3. User Account Control: - Disable User Account Control (UAC) temporarily to check if it's causing the issue. Type "User Account Control" in the Start menu search, move the slider to "Never notify," and restart your computer. 4. Modify Folder Permissions: - Ensure that the FS9 installation folder and associated files have the appropriate permissions for your user account: - Right-click the FS9 folder, choose "Properties," go to the "Security" tab, select your user account, and make sure you have full control. 5. Reinstall with Administrator Rights: - Uninstall FS9, and then reinstall it by right-clicking the installation file and choosing "Run as administrator" to ensure the installation process runs with elevated privileges. 6. DirectX and Visual C++ Redistributable: - Make sure your system has the necessary DirectX and Visual C++ Redistributable packages installed. You can download and install the latest versions from the Microsoft website. 7. Check Event Viewer for Errors: - Review the Windows Event Viewer for any specific error messages related to FS9. Look for application or system errors that might provide more details on why the program fails to start. After trying these steps, attempt to run FS9 again to see if the issue is resolved. If the problem persists, there might be deeper compatibility issues with running FS9 on Windows 10 that could require additional troubleshooting steps or utilizing compatibility workarounds.
