Windows Vista games slow

I have been facing a problem with games in vista for the past 5 days.
The games are getting dragged and discontinuous.

I checked the task manager and found the cpu usage to be nearly 100% when games are running. I dont know whether that is the problem. I found that TrustedInstaller.exe was using lot of memory. I disabled it in msconfig. Still the 100% cpu problem persists, this time i think it is due to explorer.exe

I am running Vista home premium on hp pavilion laptop. 2gb ram.nvidia graphics.

When games are not running(or even when the game window is minimized) there is no significant problem.

I'd check your manufacturers website for new drivers:

You could also try one of the drivers modded for laptops from one of the sites that deal with this... One excellent site is here:
LaptopVideo2Go & NVIDIA Related News You'll be able to find a more recent release from that website although do read the instructions..
