Windows 7 Graphics artifacts when using aero

I installed windows 7 yesterday and it ran fine using the standard theme, but as soon as I changed to aero i noticed small red lines and pixels appearing when the aero effect is used. It seems to be a mixture of occasional red pixels and sometimes big red lines. Aero runs smoothly it just looks annoying sometimes. I am using a radeon 9600XT

I've had this same problem for a long time with Vista. I have not been able to find a way to fix it. I was hoping the upgrade to 7 would fix the problem. Doesn't look like it will. I am running a GeForce 9500 GT. All drivers are up to date.
