Windows 7 Hawing problem whit LAN

Hi. I have hudge problem whit my HP Notebook and win 7.
I wanto connect thru a cable modem but the main problem is in that i dont have a LAN conection icon i olnly have wierless icon but the other icon to connect whit cable i just dont have. How can i fix this problem. Ty

If you have network cards in both PC's, you don't need a modem to connect them in LAN. Connect them directly with the network cable, and Local Network should show up in your tray notification area and in the Network and Sharing Center.


Alternatively, it is sometimes possible to connect the two PC's with the help of a router.
