I somehow lost the registry key HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList.
In fact there is only one reg key under CurrentVersion ( WPAEvents ). So that would explain why when I log in as user "ME" the default user profile gets loaded instead of the one for "ME".
Also, under C:\Users I see folders for all the user profiles including "ME" with all the files there and intact as far as I can tell. So whatever happened it seems like this is an issues strictly with registry corruption.
So my questions are:
1) What might have happened to cause such corruption?
2) Most importantly what are some options for restoring the needed profile keys in the registry?
Thanks for any help.
