Windows 8 Help me build a Haswell system

Hey all,

I'm ready to build my first system. Primarily for gaming (FSX, Battlefield mostly). Obviously want a 4th gen Intel Core i7 (unless someone can convince me all I need is an i5) and it has to be unlocked to OC for FSX. I'm hoping for an NVidia GPU (again unless some convinces me that a Radeon would be better, I'm open to ideas here).

So far I think I've got a good selection of parts and an alright deal:
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1326993

ASUS Sabertooth Z87 @$264.99
Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5 GHz @$349.99
Samsung 840 Pro Series 256 GB SSD @$250.99
G.SKILL Trident X Series 16 GB DDR3-2400 SDRAM @$176.99

Combined total $1042.96
Combo discounts $52.97

Total $989.99 CAD

So after that I'd need a case and a GPU, presumably a PSU too? Looking to spend less than $1200 CAD.

Any and all help is appreciated.

**EDIT**

Also found this complete system: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1352830

If you go with that deal....and looking to get a case, PSU, GPU....there goes the $1200 budget.

GPU Nvidia (680 series) - $300 minimum
PSU - with those specs, noting less then 1000 watt PSU - $200
Case full tower - $100

I would rethink the combo deal or up your budget.....up your budget gets my vote.

Looking at some benchmarks in Battlefield 3 with the GTX 660, it doesn't get the greatest performance, especially when compared to the 670. Hm.

You'd have to replace the gtx660. I mean if you're going with an i7, why skimp on an entry level gaming card. Also, the i7 is unnecessary for gaming. If you have the extra cash fine, but you will get the same frame rates with a 4670k, for over $100 less.

Thanks for your input. I'm just wondering about the performance of Flight Simulator as is requires a very high clock speed so I'm kind of skeptical as to how much I'll be able to OC an i5 as opposed to the i7.
