I have some programs that, when the PC boots, open in a window. I would like them to open maximized (they are not listed in the Startup folder in Start > All Programs).

Solution
Try this:

Find the SHORTCUT icon for the program you want to use (I don't think it will work on the original icon from the program files folder so you might have to make a shortcut) and right click it and then select properties. Look for the Run window and here you can select Normal Window, Minimized or Maximized. Choose Maximized and then click OK.
