I've managed to share files between the two but not the internet, although I've ticked the ICS option in the LAN properties on the host computer.

Solution
It seems like you've set up file sharing between two computers but are facing issues sharing the internet connection. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue: 1. Check Network Adapter Settings: - Make sure that the network adapter on the host computer, which is sharing the internet connection, is set up correctly. You can do this by going to "Control Panel" -> "Network and Sharing Center" -> "Change adapter settings". 2. Enable Internet Connection Sharing (ICS): - Double-check that the Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) option is correctly configured on the host computer. - Right-click the network connection that has access to the internet, go to "Properties" -> "Sharing" tab, and tick the box...

Check Firewall Settings: - Sometimes, the firewall settings can block internet sharing. Ensure that the firewall settings are not blocking the shared internet connection. 4. IP Configuration: - The client computer should be set to obtain an IP address automatically. Check the TCP/IP settings on the client computer to ensure it is set to obtain an IP address automatically. 5. Restart Network Services: - Try restarting the network services on both the host and client computers. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve the issue. 6. Reconnect the Network: - Disable and re-enable the network adapters on both computers to refresh the connection. 7. Network Troubleshooter: - You can also run the network troubleshooter on both computers to diagnose and potentially fix any network-related issues automatically. 8. Update Network Drivers: - Ensure that the network drivers on both computers are up to date. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause connectivity issues. By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the issue of not being able to share the internet connection between the two computers. If the issue persists, feel free to provide more details for further assistance.
