Hi Windows 7 Fans:

I just upgraded my Dell Desktop from Vista 32-business to Windows 7 Enterprise.

I changed my password and now I can not connect thru my network to my Desktop from my Dell
Vista Laptop.

I have my files shared and network sharing & printer sharing enabled but now I can not connect via my Laptop.

How do I fix this?

I can't join a Win7 homegroup (workgroup) with Vista right?

Please advise.

Solution
Can you ping the other computer? Can you see it on the Full map.

If you only have one Win 7 computer, you don't need a Homegroup. Run them both on the same workgroup.

Have you tried remote desktop?

Solution
I have the same problem I have a dell vista laptop and a white box windows 7 PC. This is the first time in 20 years I have had issues with networking. I can see the computers on the network but can not access either from the other. This sucks. I have the printer on the windows 7 computer. I have went through all the required steps for networking and authorizing.
