I don't know what happened. I had windows 7 installed on a seperate partition and it worked fine. Then I chose to upgrade my Vista install and now I have this messed up taskbar problem. When the computer first boots it's small like it's supposed to be and looks fine. But after a second it looks like the attached screen shot. Most of the time it does not display the open windows, and if it does you can't close them by right clicking. If you do close the window, it looks blank like in the screen shot. How do I fix this and make it display properly? If I pin any applications to the taskbar the icon is really small no matter what settings I put it on. Someone please help!

Solution
It seems like the taskbar issue you're facing in Windows 7 after upgrading from Vista is causing some display problems. Here are some steps you can take to try to resolve this issue: 1. Restart Windows Explorer: Sometimes, issues with the taskbar can be resolved by restarting Windows Explorer. You can do this by: - Pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager. - Under the Processes tab, find Windows Explorer. - Right-click on Windows Explorer and select Restart. 2. Check Taskbar Settings: - Right-click on an empty space on the taskbar. - Ensure that "Lock the taskbar" is unchecked. - Check the settings in the Taskbar settings to adjust the icon size and other properties. 3. Update Graphics Drivers: - Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. You can download and install the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website. 4. Run System File Checker: - Open Command Prompt as an administrator. - Type sfc /scannow and press Enter. This command will scan and repair any corrupted system files. 5. Check for Windows Updates: - Make sure your system is up to date by checking for and installing any available Windows updates. 6. System Restore: - If the issue started after the upgrade, you can try using System Restore to go back to a point before the upgrade. 7. Create a New User Account: - Sometimes, user profile issues can cause taskbar problems. Create a new user account and see if the issue persists there. Give these steps a try, and hopefully, one of them will help resolve the taskbar display problem you're experiencing in Windows 7.
