It seems like you're encountering an issue while trying to install Windows Vista RC1 on a system with an Intel 845 motherboard. The error message you mentioned about the IDE driver not being found is quite common during installation when the system is unable to detect the necessary drivers for the IDE controller. To resolve this issue, you will need to provide the IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics) drivers during the installation process. Here's how you can do it: 1. Download IDE Drivers: - You will need to download the specific IDE drivers for your Intel 845 motherboard. These drivers are usually available on the motherboard manufacturer's website or the Intel website. Make sure to download the drivers compatible with Windows Vista. 2. Prepare the Drivers: - Once you have downloaded the IDE drivers, you need to extract them to a location that is accessible during the Windows Vista installation process. You can save them to a USB flash drive or burn them to a CD. 3. Load the IDE Drivers During Installation: - When you reach the point in the Windows Vista installation where it prompts you to load drivers, insert the USB drive or CD with the IDE drivers. - Proceed with the installation and when prompted for the drivers, navigate to the location where you saved the IDE drivers and select them. 4. Complete the Installation: - Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the Windows Vista installation. By providing the IDE drivers, the installation should proceed without any issues related to the IDE driver. By following these steps and providing the necessary IDE drivers during the installation process, you should be able to install Windows Vista RC1 successfully on your system with the Intel 845 motherboard. If you encounter any issues during this process, feel free to ask for further assistance.
