Hello,

As you know you can't directly upgrade from xp to windows 7, so I am wondering if this solution is possible:

Windows Xp -----> Upgrade to Windows vista ultimate -------> upgrade to Windows 7 (with all of my programs and files,...)

Thank you, bye.:p

If you are on Windows XP and planning to UPGRADE...

YOU MUST DO A CLEAN INSTALL.
There is no upgrade path. There are user migration tools you can use, but you will need to backup your files and do a clean install.

I have seen several threads about this and just want to clarify. The upgrade from Windows Vista is a valid upgrade path, but Windows XP to Windows 7 is not

yes yes I know that, but you didnt fully understand me.

I am wondering if it is possible this:

From windows xp i upgrade to vista and then from vista which was upgraded from xp I upgrate to 7

It might be possible but would probably leave tons of crap behind and have problems. A clean install is always best. Take a look at all of the people here who upgraded from Vista and are having problems now.

Sure you can

yes you can first upgrade to vista and then to 7

Even if the process is time consuming, its still fruitful if you want all the programs.

Cos a direct upgrade is not possible.

:p
