Windows 7 Kernel Data Inpage Error - Desperately Need Help!! :(

Hi guys,

I have been experiencing a bout of BSOD recently a week after installing a game (Sims 3 and its assosicated expansion sets) and some other software that includes a game booster (Razer Game Booster) and Advanced Systemcare 6 from IOBit.com. I have since uninstalled all of these and did a windows update in a bid to try and solve the problem. However, my laptop is still experiencing this error daily and I am desperate for help.

I am using:

Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit
Service Pack 1

Processor: Intel (R) Core(TM)i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz
RAM: 8.00 GB

I do have a NVIDIA video card. I have also attached my dmp files for analysis.

I've also ran Chkdsk and the volume C: came up clean. Am not sure what's wrong anymore!

EventID 41 is an error where Windows doesn't know why it was shut down. In quite a few cases this is due to hardware problems. I'd first suggest that you monitor your temperatures with this free utility: HWMonitor CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting

It was good to un-install GameBooster. The drivers it uses are known to cause BSOD's in some systems.

The 2 dump files are both STOP 0x7A errors - and both point to errors with the Disk Hardware. IME these are more often hardware than drivers ( Link Removed ) - so I suggest starting with these free hardware diagnostics: Link Removed Start with the hard drive diagnostics.
If the diagnostics/temps don't reveal anything, post back and we'll look at other hardware tests.

Thanks usasma for the quick reply.

I've ran the memtest with about 5 to 6 passes and there was nothing out of the ordinary. Same with the harddrive diagnostics. The system passed with flying colours. Another BSOD occured in the last 2 days and I have attached the new dmp file along with other information about the system. I've also caught something about a volmgr.sys during the blue screen before the system went on to reboot itself.

Hard drive Diagnostics with Dell's online PC Diagnostic BSOD Troubleshooting tool did pick up on the following blue screen issues:

Ok. Things got real bad. Just had a BSOD with possible fault lying in ntfs.sys. I'm now unable to boot my laptop up (screen remains black with power light on) and is running Dell's PSA Diagnostics on it at the moment. I've received an error code of 2000-0142 with Status 74 thus far. Will report back if any more errors are found. does this mean the hard disk is failing?

I would suspect that, but you said that the hard drive passed the diagnostics tests.
I find that the Seatools test is very accurate, but as with any other software tests - there are occasional errors in the test.

Please run the Seagate Seatools bootable hard drive test and select the Long/Extended test.
Even if you've already run it, things may have changed since you ran it (this appears to be catastrophic!)

Oh dear. That's real disheartening to hear. I will try and run the Seagate Seatools on my laptop as soon as it finishes the PSA Diagnostic tests and if I can get it to boot up to Windows. I'm currently typing this on my IPad. Am feeling sad as I need my laptop for uni.
