I have set up either a wireless or local area network and in both cases the other computers can not be accessed even though all the required processes have been made. the map shows the My PC, the gateway, the modem, the internet and then shows the other computers on the bottom of the screen and states: the following discovered devices have been found but can not be added to the network. So why is this so difficult under windows 7? and how do I get the other computers into the fold?

Solution
What operating system are the other computers running? If they are XP, you will need to add the Link Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) Responder in order to see them in the Map

You can also just put Link Removed in the search box on the start menu. Are you using the same Workgroup for all?
