Hi guys,

I've searched and searched for answers on this, but have come up empty handed. I just bought a new PC with Windows 7 64 bit. It is connected to another machine running XP. The computer running XP is connected to the net, via a wireless adapter. The router is connected to another computer in the house. I want to know if it's possible for me to have the new machine running W7, connect to the machine running XP, to get connected to the internet.

Solution

    • Select the option to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP) if it's not already selected.
    • Click "OK" to save the settings.
  2. Test the Connection:
    • Restart both the Windows XP and Windows 7 computers.

      Additional Tips:

      • Make sure that the Windows XP machine is always turned on when you want to use the shared Internet connection on your Windows 7 PC.
      • You may need to disable any firewall software temporarily to ensure that the connection is not being blocked.
