Hello,

Since I've installed Windows 7, I encountered 2 problems:
1. My computer doesnt seem to find any audio devices. If I try to install the audio drivers for my motherboard for vista, it says it cant install because there are no audio devices found whatsoever. I've tried installing a bunch of different drivers, but nothing seems te work. How do i resolve this?

2. My computers standard USB drivers just do NOT work. It recognises the usb ports in device manager, but it says it cant initialise the drivers for it. I have a dutch Windows 7, but its recognisable still in english: Link Removed due to 404 Error
I've tried removing the usb ports and find them again, but then my PC finds them and still has the same problem.
How do I get the usb ports to work?

My motherboard is Asus M2N-E SLI

Thanks

Solution
It looks like you're facing some issues with audio devices and USB drivers after installing Windows 7 on your computer, particularly on an Asus M2N-E SLI motherboard. Let's address each problem:

Audio Device Issue:

  1. Driver Installation Problem:
    • When you're installing Vista audio drivers on Windows 7, compatibility issues may arise given the different operating systems.
    • Solution: You should install Windows 7 specific audio drivers for your motherboard. These drivers are designed to work with Windows 7 and should resolve the issues.

      USB Driver Issue:

  2. USB Initialization Problem:
    • The issue with USB drivers failing to initialize might be due to compatibility or driver...

      USB Driver Issue:

  2. USB Initialization Problem:
    • The issue with USB drivers failing to initialize might be due to compatibility or driver corruption.
    • Solution: Try the following steps to resolve the USB driver issue:
      • Update USB Drivers: Go to the Asus website and download the latest USB drivers for Windows 7 compatible with your motherboard model, Asus M2N-E SLI.
      • Device Manager: Uninstall the existing USB drivers from Device Manager and then scan for hardware changes to let Windows reinstall them with the correct drivers.
      • Compatibility Mode: If the drivers still have issues, try running the driver installation in compatibility mode. Right-click the installer, go to Properties, then Compatibility, and select an earlier Windows version.

        Additional Recommendations:

        • Check Device Manager: Ensure there are no exclamation marks next to any devices, indicating driver issues.
        • BIOS Update: Consider checking if there's a BIOS update available for your motherboard on the Asus website. Sometimes, BIOS updates can resolve hardware compatibility issues.
        • Windows Update: Make sure to check for Windows Updates as they can also provide driver updates that might resolve these issues.
Try these steps, and if you encounter any specific errors or issues during the process, feel free to share them for further assistance!
