Hey Folks

quick background, windows 7 64 bit

My desktop icons for any of my office documents, mainly so far word and excel show up as like a unknown file icon. They load up fine in word or whatever the file is, just its annoying that work docs dont have the word doc logo and so on. The attachment is what the icon is for all saved office files look like..

Unfortunately Office does not create the standard icons that can be easily changed. The Change Icon button is grayed out.

It usually point to a file called ARPPRODUCTICON.exe in the c:\windows\Installer directory.

no one knows?
Sure OpenOffice.org freeware open source non microsoft how can you go wrong? It will open most document types (might take a little googling if you don't know what program created them) the few it can't natively open can be converted for free online just google "convert office document format" no quotes ofcourse.
