Hello, I have a pc I had rarely used with Windows 8, which I just updated to 8.1
When I checked for updates, I have 175 updates that I needed to download and install. Couple questions...
1) do I need to dl and install all updates? (Some are updates that have the year 2012 on it). Can I pick and choose the the most recent ones? Which are most important?
2) My default browser is Chrome. I do not use Explorer. Do I need to install updates for Explorer?

Thank you!

I would install them all. If it's a security update it's probably patching a vulnerability. Some of them may be cumulative so some of the newer updates may patch something old, but Windows Update should figure that out.
