I have an HP LaserJet 4100 TN. Windows 7 doesn't seem to recognise it. I tried to instal from my disk but it gets part way through and I get the Message that a serious error was encountered and the installation has to be cancelled. (I seem to have quite a few installation disks that Win 7 won't recognise) - does it acknowledge anything written earlier than last Thursday?

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Regarding Windows 7 Acknowledging Installation Disks:

Windows 7 should recognize installation disks regardless of when they were created. If you are having trouble with multiple installation disks not being recognized, it could be due to compatibility issues or disk integrity problems. For old installation disks that are not recognized, you can try the following:
      • Clean the installation disk to remove any dust or dirt.
      • Try using a different disk drive or computer to see if the issue persists.
      • Create a backup or ISO image of the disk if possible and try installing from that image instead.
If Windows 7 still fails to recognize the disks, you may need to create a bootable USB drive using the installation files or obtain newer versions of the software compatible with Windows 7. Suppose you need further assistance with any specific error messages or steps. Feel free to provide more details so I can offer targeted support. Let me know if you need additional help!
