I am on a site Called New Direction IRA, I can open it and it responds with my name but it does not give me
the information in my account. I am able to get into every other site ie My Bank of America Account, My Stock
Account, everything but the above named account. I am using Laptop , Win 7, Explorer 11 and Google Browser
had not visited the ND IRA site for some time. They claim everything is okay on their end. Any ideas what could be wrong and is it on my end?? It welcomes me back by Full name and below my name should be a drop down to where my information is but no drop down and no information.

Hello,

If they claim that there is no issues from the website end, here are few things you can try.

1: Try clearing cookies and temp files for your browser. (manually searching for cookies only for this site and deleting would also work).
2: Try disabling the security software and check.
3: Add the site to compatibility view settings (in IE) and check if that helps.
4: Check if there are any updates available for both IE and Chrome. If yes, please install them.
5: Please check what happens in safe mode with networking.
Hope this helps.

Hi wilhem1 If your able to access the site, IMHO the problem is on their end. If you couldn't get to the site, there could be a reason on your end.
Example firewall or AV could block access to certain sites.

Thanks for responding. I feel that the problem is on their end. I go in and put in name and password and it opens up. These people
have been faulted for their shoddy work with communicating with customers. Believe me I am so sorry to have gotten hooked up
with them. Buyer Beware.

I downloaded WOT for IE and I see a "Gold Zero" has shown up on some sites. When I looked at ND IRA it showed nothing that I can see. I guess, you mean if they don't have a "zero" that is a bad sign, correct?

Good morning wilhem1 ND IRA doesn't seem to have a green rating! There could be many reasons for that. It's probably safe, but I would like to see a green WOT
The ones to watch out for are the red WOT warnings! I hope this explains how WOT works!;)

I am not seeing a Red or Green WOT so maybe it is not working correctly on my puter. Also, since you are on W10 and I am on W7 what we see is more than likely different. I went to Cont Panel, Programs and it is listed. Will have to play with it maybe go to a known bad site and see what happens. More later.

Okay, I get it now that is not a "GOLD Circle" that is a "Caution Circle' that
I see. A little slow this morning, well that is not unusual for me. Ha Ha Ha

Funny, I went to Porn and Avast gave all the sites a check mark saying it is safe. Then I see that
WOT gave it a green circle. Okay I guess it is working. The green wot comes up a little slowly.

Well, finally they have admitted that THEY have a problem. Sure would have saved me having to get the use of 4 different computers to get
the same results.

That's one of your best weapons in fighting a non-cooperating website--check another computer! or borrow a friend's or neighbors or at school or a work computer. Web administrators are very apt to deny there is anything wrong with their website as they are the authors! They think their stuff never breaks or is impervious from cyber-attack, etc.:noway: For example, when Microsoft caught the first worm e-mail virus back in 1998 (the I Love You Virus), they refused to believe that their website was at fault; until 10,000 businesses (including mine) called in all on day one and reported it. After that, they had to take steps to remediate--however, their steps included shutting down Hotmail and MSN E-mail as well as Corporate MS Mail for 4 days!!! Just sayin'...don't always listen to those guys. Sites like WOT and Symantec Reputation toolbar help with figuring things out.

Cheers!

Right, plus after having sent them about 15 emails. Damn some people are stupid and slow to even own up that there is a problem.

I hear that!! After 45 years in the business, it still amazes me how poorly Customer Service is with many of these online companies. Most of the big online banking and credit unions have decent tech support. But, unfortunately, not many of the smaller ones. Also, the Government sites such as Social Security, Medicare, DMV, and HMO sites are improving--but they still have a long way to go. Larger organizations such as the ones above have internal resources and IT departments dedicated to 24x7 service. Many 2nd-tier financial outfits outsource these services such as online login portals to 3rd party providers, and they in turn outsource their tech support to yet other 3rd party providers--such as a guy with a beard living on a lake out 200 miles from the nearest civilization using a Satellite dish feed for his Internet! Don't laugh--I've seen it before!

If you want to test the quality of online Tech support with a company you are having issues with; try calling and 3am and see if you get a live person or a voicemail telling you that they will respond only to E-mail and they'll get back to with 14 days.

Cheers!
