When you copy and paste a URL into an email or document, the text might appear as plain text rather than a clickable link. This can happen due to the formatting settings in the email client or document editor. To make the URL clickable, you generally need to ensure it's recognized as a hyperlink. Here's how you can make a URL clickable in various applications:

Windows Live Mail:

  • Creating a Hyperlink:
  • In Windows Live Mail, when composing an email, highlight the URL you want to make clickable.
  • Right-click on the selected URL and choose the option to add a hyperlink.
  • Paste the URL into the hyperlink field and save it. This will turn the URL into a clickable link in the email.

  • Similar to Windows Live Mail, in Thunderbird's email composer, highlight the URL you want to convert.
  • Right-click on the selected URL and select the option to add a link.
  • Paste the URL into the link field and save. This should convert the URL into a clickable link in Thunderbird.

Microsoft Word or Other Document Editors:

[*Hyperlinking in Word:
  • In a document editor like Microsoft Word, you can highlight the text where you want the hyperlink.
  • Then, go to the Insert tab and choose Hyperlink.
  • Paste the URL into the Address field and click OK. This will create a clickable link in the document.

Firefox or Internet Explorer:

If you are trying to share a link directly from the browser: [*Copy the Link:
  • When you are on the webpage you want to share, copy the URL from the address bar. [*Paste in Email:
  • When composing your email, paste the link directly into the body of the email. [*Check Formatting:
  • Ensure that the link appears in a format like "https://www.example.com" and not just plain text. [*Send Test Email:
  • Send a test email to verify if the link is clickable. By following these steps, you should be able to create clickable links in your emails and documents. If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, feel free to ask!
