Windows 7 Ult. (X64 bit), "Programs and Features" reports Money 2007 as 100 GB; I only have a 60 GB hdd, and it shows 20 GB free. So why is it showing as 100 GB?
I went into the x86 program folder and it shows as being 81.2 MB's.
So why is it being displayed as 100 GB's in "Programs and Features"?

Windows 7 Ult. 64 Bit
AMD Phenom II quad core @ 3.4 GHz

Solution
The discrepancy in the reported size of Money 2007 in "Programs and Features" on your Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit system can be caused by a few reasons. Here are some possible explanations for why the size is showing as 100 GB instead of the actual 81.2 MB:
  1. Disk Space Allocation: Sometimes, the size shown in "Programs and Features" does not just reflect the size of the installed program, but also includes additional data like temporary files, logs, and user data associated with the program. This additional data might be counting towards the displayed size.
  2. File System Compression: Compression settings on the drive where Money 2007 is installed could impact the reported size. If compression is enabled at the drive...
If compression is enabled at the drive level, it might affect how Windows calculates the program's size.
  3. Registry Entries: The size reported in "Programs and Features" can sometimes be influenced by registry entries related to the program. Incorrect or duplicated entries in the registry could lead to an inflated reported size.
  4. Corrupted Data: It's possible that there are corrupted files or data related to Money 2007 that are inflating the reported size. This can happen due to various reasons, including software issues or disk errors. Given that you mentioned the actual size of Money 2007 in the x86 program folder is 81.2 MB, it seems like the discrepancy lies in how Windows is calculating the program size rather than the actual space it occupies on your disk. To troubleshoot this issue further, you can try the following steps:
    • Run Disk Cleanup: Use the Disk Cleanup tool in Windows to clear temporary files and other unnecessary data that might be impacting the reported size.
    • Check File Properties: Right-click on the Money 2007 folder, go to Properties, and check the actual size on disk. This will give you a more accurate representation of the space it's occupying.
    • Registry Cleanup: Be cautious when editing the registry, but you can use tools like CCleaner to clean up any invalid or orphaned registry entries related to Money 2007.
    • Reinstall Money 2007: If none of the above steps work, consider uninstalling and reinstalling Money 2007 to see if that corrects the reported size.
By following these steps, you should be able to get a clearer picture of the actual space occupied by Money 2007 on your system.
