Windows 7 Random BSOD - Appreciate help

Hi,
I am getting random bsods and would be grateful if someone could help out.

The computer works fine if I run only one progam on it. however, if I say, run windows media player and internet explorer at the same time, i will usually get a BSOD in 30min-1h. tried blueScreenViewer, which tells me the kernel file is the problem (cannot be) and I have tried going back to old restore points and reinstalling with no success. Also tried CCCleaner wthout success.

i am on windows 7 64bit.

My dmp and CPU_Z screens are attached. Would be grateful if someone could help?

RAM is not set according to its rates, should be 1600Mhz, and right now you have it 1333Mhz. Enable XMP profile in the bios and set the dram frequency 1600.

Check for Avermedia updates:

Let's not uninstall AVG yet, adjust the memory settings first of all and let know how it goes.

Thanks. Did the dram profile change. No help though. Still got the bsod. Dump attached.
Avermedia was already removed due to one of the earlier system restores.
You think it could be AVG? Or (hopefully not) my Asus Xonar Essence stx driver? If yes could you recommend an alternative antivirus?

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If a kernel debugger is available get the stack backtrace.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000048, memory referenced
Arg2: 0000000000000002, IRQL
Arg3: 0000000000000001, bitfield :
    bit 0 : value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation
bit 3 : value 0 = not an execute operation, 1 = execute operation (only on chips which support this level of status)
Arg4: fffff80002f3ab1f, address which referenced memory

Thanks. Switching the antivirus now. Could I just check if, based on the attached screens the memory setting looks ok? I checked vs the specs (also attached) and they seem ok.

Really appreciate the help!

Yes, the memory settings are now correct -- 1600Mhz 9-9-9-24.

As your pdf says, it can be set:

- 1600Mhz 9-9-9-24 1.65v (XMP)
- 1333Mhz 9-9-9-24 1.5v

Thanks very much. stressing the computer by opening multiple programs does not produce the BSOD like previously anymore.

only thing is that i am getting othr errors now. Could you help see which drivers are causing this? Dmp files attached. Memory/mainboardsettings have not changed so i am not reattaching.

Gonna update my USB drivers now but appreciate if you could have a look at the dmps.

sorry to bother again but ionly have 3 usb connections. one dAC, one mouse and one keyboard. Tried to view the driver in the properties page and it seems like the "Update driver" option is shaded out, meaning, I cannot click it.

How do I update dirvers in this case?

How to update drivers: go to manufacturers support site, search your device and download updates for it.

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000007e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
happening.
Arguments:
Arg1: ffffffffc0000005, The exception code that was not handled

Hi,

just reset everything by doing a clean install. No more AVG and avermedia is disabled. still get the BSOD though. any reason why?

I did not change BIOS settings so the cpu z screens have not changed. If you still need to see them do let me know.

As an addition, I also ran windows diagnostics Extended run 6 passes (continuous) and there were no errors.

Thanks Cybercore. I may not be the easiest person to work with because I am confused about the problem too but thanks for your patience. Last few confirmations.

usb 3- Can I just confirm that the usb3 driver was the immediate reason for the crash? I will check with Asus but it is strange that their website and windows updating say I have the latest driver.Renesas does not provide them.

RAM - specs of my ram attached. Not too sure how the previous conclusion was reached but relooking the specs, it says 9-9-9-27, 1.65v. Could you spare a min to confirm? Sorry to bother.

Avermedia - Attached a screen showing that the avermedia driver has been disabled. Do I need to uninstall?

Memory - Ok, yes, according to the pdf the rates are DDR3-1600MHz at a low latency timing of 9-9-9-27 at 1.65V.. This means your current settings are correct.

Avermedia - Ok, disabled. To prevent its driver from loading on startup, navigate to C:\Windows\system32\drivers and rename to .BAK this file:

AVerBDA716x_x64.sys Fri Jun 05 05:58:38 2009

At some point later you can rename it back when needed.

usb 3- Can I just confirm that the usb3 driver was the immediate reason

Yes, that's what your crash dumps point to.

So update USB 3.0 and rename the Avermedia driver. If you get a blue screen, this time attach the .dmp's only.

Thanks very much for this.

A bit off topic so if you don't want to reply is ok. I'm just curious considering the speed of your replies. Are you salaried support or doing this for free? Also are you just one person replying or a bunch of people? The speed of replies is incredible!

No, I don't get paid for this.

Also are you just one person replying or a bunch of people?
