Windows 7 Random switching to desktop

My operating system has developed a strange problem. Every 10 minutes, it will randomly switch away to the desktop, and back again. This is incredibly annoying, and I would very much like it to stop.

I have run both virus checkers and spyware scanners, and they haven't found anything. Any idea what could be causing this?

Most probably it's a program you have running in the background, giving the order to jump to desktop. You may use msconfig
http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig/msconfig_win7.html to sort it out. Or you can check manually via Task Manager, press Ctrl+Alt+Del simultaneously, and choose Task Manager.

It's possible that you have installed something that came with something extra, it's more and more common. If you can date the start of the problem, you're a big leap ahead.
