It seems like you are experiencing issues with the 3.5mm jack on your computer, specifically with the microphone not being recognized while headphones are working normally. This could be due to the microphone port being disabled or encountering other problems. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Troubleshooting Steps for 3.5mm Jack Issue:

  1. Check Microphone Connection:
    • Ensure that the microphone is properly plugged into the correct port (usually the pink port) on your computer.

    ]Update Sound Drivers:
    • Outdated or corrupt sound drivers can cause issues. Update your VIA HD audio drivers to the latest version. You can download them from the ASRock website or VIA's official site.
    []Check Sound Settings in BIOS:
    • Sometimes, audio ports can be disabled in the BIOS settings. Enter the BIOS setup during boot (usually by pressing Del or F2) and ensure that the audio ports are enabled.
    [
    ]Test with Another Microphone:
    • Try using a different microphone to determine if the issue is with the microphone itself.
    []Reinstall Audio Drivers:
    • Uninstall the current VIA HD audio drivers from the Device Manager and then reinstall them. This can sometimes fix driver-related issues.
    [
    ]Windows Troubleshooter:
    • Run the built-in Windows Troubleshooter for audio problems. It can detect and resolve common sound issues.
  2. Check Microphone Privacy Settings:
    • In Windows, go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone and ensure that microphone access is allowed for apps.
