Windows 7 Recent Items Not Working

Windows 7 Pro SP1. Customize Start Menu option 'Recent Items' IS checked. Nothing shows up in C:\Users\Me\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent. Anyone got any ideas as to where to start looking? Maintenance is current. TIA for any help received.

Can we see a screen shot of all of your Start Menu settings.

I have it working now. I examined the 'group policy settings'. I found them all set to default. I removed 'pictures' and 'music' from the start menu. I restarted and suddenly the counter on 'how many items to keep' wasn't grayed out any more??? So - I honestly don't have a clue as to what I did to get it working. Thanks for your help!.

Most group policy changes don't take affect immediately, can require a reboot or a gpupdate /force
