Windows 7 regedit fix not possible

Every time I try to create, rename, or move a folder I get ITEM NOT FOUND. Tried registry edit suggested by Fazil M on July 13 but I cannot navigate to "Folder Descriptions" in the registry key--list stops at Explorer. There is no "folder descriptions." Running Win7 Pro 64 bit. Don't have time to uninstalll a thousand updates and retry each. Please suggest another solution--there must be one for this irritating bug.
