My SD card is not detected - no sound on insertion into the integrated card reader, invisible in File Explorer, Device Manager and Disk Management on my desktop (HP Pavilion 500, Windows 10 Home, all updates) . It works fine on my laptop however. I see 'unknown device' under 'Other devices' in Device Manager, with a yellow triangle against it. When I try to update the driver for this 'unknown device' I get the message:
"Windows found drivers for your device, but encountered a problem while attempting to install them
Intel (R) 6 series/c200 series Chipset family USB enhanced Host controller 1C26
The driver file for this device is missing a necessary entry. Contact your hardware vendor."
Grateful if anyone can suggest whether the above points to a hardware failure of the card reader? I've run update checks on the Intel site, but no issues were flagged.
Thanks.
