Anybody else with same problem?

    • Sometimes security software can interfere with installations. Temporarily disable your firewall and antivirus software during the Skype installation process.

      For XP Acer Netbook:

    []Download Old Skype Version:
    • Since XP is no longer officially supported by Skype, try downloading an older version of Skype that is compatible with Windows XP from third-party websites. Ensure you download from a trusted source.
    [
    ]Check for XP Updates:
    • Make sure your XP system is up to date with all the latest Windows updates, as some of these updates may be necessary for the successful installation of Skype.
    []Clean Uninstall of Skype:
    • Completely uninstall Skype from the XP netbook, including clearing out any remaining files and registry entries associated with Skype. This helps ensure a fresh installation.
    [
    ]Old Skype Versions Repository:
    • You can find older versions of Skype on websites that archive software versions. Be cautious and download from reputable sources to avoid malware risks.
  2. Compatibility Mode:
    • Right-click on the Skype installer, go to Properties, and set the compatibility mode to Windows XP. Try running the installer in compatibility mode and see if it helps. If you continue to encounter problems, consider reaching out to Skype support or community forums for targeted assistance with installing Skype on Windows Vista and XP systems.
