So I have folders containing pictures and videos and when using thumbnail view I would like there to be less spacing between each thumbnail to be able to see as many at once and as large as possible.

A couple tweaks I would like to be able to do...
1. The filename wrote on a single line, being cutoff if too long instead of a bunch of new lines.
2. Removal of the selection checkbox (on the top left of the thumbnail).
3. No padding on the left/right side of the thumbnail. (you can see this when an item is selected, the blue border has 3 or so pixels spacing before the thumbnail)
4. No padding on the left side of the the first column.
5. Removal of the "associated program" icon on the bottom right of the thumbnail. (ie the wmp icon on videos)

Any ideas?

To customize the thumbnail view in folders containing pictures and videos on Windows, you can make modifications through settings and configuration changes. Here are some possible solutions for the tweaks you mentioned: 1. Adjusting Filename Display: - Unfortunately, Windows Explorer does not natively support displaying long filenames on a single line and cuts them off instead. If you need to see the full filename, you may need to use a third-party file explorer or a file manager that supports this feature. 2. Removing Selection Checkbox: - To hide the selection checkbox on thumbnails, you can achieve this by modifying the folder view settings. Removing Selection Checkbox: - To hide the selection checkbox on thumbnails, you can achieve this by modifying the folder view settings. Here's how you can do it: - Open the folder containing the pictures and videos. - Click on the "View" tab in the File Explorer menu. - Select "Options" and then choose "Change folder and search options." - In the "Folder Options" window, go to the "View" tab. - Locate the "Use check boxes to select items" option and uncheck it. - Click "Apply" and then "OK" to confirm the changes. 3. Removing Padding Around Thumbnails: - Adjusting the padding around thumbnails involves tweaking system settings or using third-party customization tools. Unfortunately, Windows Explorer does not provide built-in settings to adjust padding around thumbnails. 4. Removing Padding in First Column: - Similarly to the padding around thumbnails, removing padding in the first column would require advanced customization beyond the standard settings available in Windows Explorer. 5. Removing "Associated Program" Icon: - To remove the associated program icon on the bottom right of thumbnails, you can adjust the file associations in Windows. Here's how you can do it: - Right-click on a file of the type (e.g., video) you want to change in File Explorer. - Select "Open with" and then "Choose another app." - Choose the program you want to use to open that type of file. - Check the box labeled "Always use this app to open .[filetype] files." - Click "OK" to confirm the changes. For more advanced customization options like removing padding and adjusting thumbnail appearance, you may need to explore third-party software or Windows customization tools. Keep in mind that modifying system files directly can potentially lead to instability or unintended consequences, so proceed with caution.
