Windows 7 Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically

HP Pavilion dv6768se. Computer would not boot up - only a white screen showed. Eventually was able to get the computer to start up in safe mode only. The original settings of the computer was to be run on Windows Vista, however I have upgraded to Windows 7. Could not perform a backup and restore of the computer, however was able to get the documents/pics/music/videos onto an external hard drive. I ran a startup repair on the computer and below are the results..... any advice would help:

If you can get into safe mode and have a DVD of win7 than you can try a inplace install. Once at desktop put in the DVD and it should get you to a point to do the install. This will do the install without removing programs or data, but as always be safe and have a backup of critical data.

It appears the error listing states the problem is a bad driver. Did you change any drivers, or allow Windows Update to install any drivers?

In safe mode, you should be able to change the driver if you can find which one it is. since you get a white screen, which is a little unusual, you might start with the video drivers.

You could also use msconfig.exe to set the system to boot using basic video, which would also check the video drivers. If that doesn't help, use msconfig.exe to set the system to boot in basic modes to see if you can eliminate certain startup drivers.
