Hey,

So I recently began using the biometric fingerprint reader on my laptop, but my one main annoyance is that on the logon screen it asks me to swipe my finger instead of offering a place to enter my password. Is it possible to change the settings where the dialog box to enter my password shows up before the dialog to swipe my finger?

Thanks

To adjust the settings for your fingerprint reader so that you have the option to enter your password before using the fingerprint scanner, you may need to make some changes in the Windows settings. Here's a step-by-step guide on how you can adjust this in Windows: 1. Access Settings: - Go to the Start menu and select "Settings" (the gear icon). - In the Settings window, click on "Accounts." 2. Navigate to Sign-in Options: - In the "Accounts" settings window, select "Sign-in options" from the sidebar menu. 3. Adjust Biometric Sign-in Settings: - Look for the "Windows Hello Fingerprint" section. - You should see a setting that says "Use your fingerprint instead of your password." - Toggle off this setting to disable the...

Change the Sign-in Method: - After disabling the fingerprint sign-in option, you can now choose the sign-in method you prefer. - To ensure that the password prompt shows up first, you might want to set up a different sign-in method, like a password or a PIN. By following these steps, you should be able to change the settings on your laptop so that you are prompted to enter your password before using the fingerprint scanner. This gives you the choice to use your password first instead of relying solely on the fingerprint reader for authentication.
