If I want to use the 64 bit upgrade of Windows 7 on an XP 32 bit system, will the windows 7 refuse to go from 32 to 64 bit or will it install the 64 bit?

If it will not install the 64 bit win 7, is there anything I can do with this situation to make it work and install 64 bit Win 7?

QuadCore Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, 2400 MHZ (9 x 267)
Asus P5N-E SLI
3584 MB DDR2-800 SDRAM 4GB
BIOS 0908
Video Adapter NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT

Thanx

You have to backup your data to another drive, disk or usb .. then do a clean install where you boot to the win 7 64 bit disk in your dvd. It will format the drive and install when you use Custom.
