Having issues with upgrade from Vista to 7 (both Ultimates). Upgrade did complete however explorer is hanging anytime I touch a folder related to the desktop. Also, program files contains no icons, just white rectangles. Funny thing is if I boot in safe mode everything appears to work fine. I have tried several suggested solutions including disable non-microsoft shell extensions, etc. I have used msconfig and disable all non-mircosoft services, etc. Still, nothing helps. Only safe mode (with networking) works... so that's where I'm staying for now.

Note: this is a developer workstation so I have LOTS of stuff installed, VS, SQLServer, BizTalk, etc. REally don't what to do a clean install so don't waste a reply suggesting I do so.

Anything in Event Viewer?

Have you removed and re-installed the Graphics drivers?

Maybe you should image the installation and try a clean Win7 install, just to verify that all is OK.
