Windows 7 USB Device Not Recognized

My computer did not recognize my USB device I use almost daily -- my printer. Tried all 3 USB ports in my netbook to no avail.

That was 2 days ago. Yesterday I plugged it in and all was fine.

Just now I tried to print but, again, that annoying icon was in my sys tray, saying USB device not recognized.

I shut down each night. Nothing has been installed or removed in a week.

Help!

Solution
Does it see other USB devices like a USB key, drive, mouse, etc.
If so then it could be the printer, a bad cable.
If not you could try deleting the USB driver and letting WIN reinstall.

If it does see all other USB devices, uninstall the printer in Device Manger and let it reinstall it.
