If I were to make Google Docs my default writer instead of Word would I then see docs when I use my Windows 11 file explorer instead of Word?
If possible do I go to apps and select the default Google Docs assuming it is there. Or HOW would I make Google Docs my default writer?

Solution
To set Google Docs as the default application for opening your documents instead of Word in Windows 11, you can follow these steps:

Changing Default Application:

  1. Google Docs: Ensure you have the Google Docs app installed on your Windows 11 system.
  2. Set Default App:
    • Right-click on a document file (e.g., .docx) in File Explorer.
    • Select Open With > Choose another app.
    • Locate and select Google Docs from the list of apps.
    • Check "Always use this app to open .docx files".
    • Click OK to make the change.

      Default App Settings:

  3. Google Docs: Open Google Docs directly to create, edit, and save your documents in the Google Docs environment. By setting Google Docs as the default application for opening document files, you should see Google Docs as the default option when opening documents from File Explorer in Windows 11.
